MURALS > Process of a ceiling Mural
-
The frame
The frame must be made several inches larger than the actual mural.
-
Stretching
The canvas must be stretched to fit over the frame. Even with stretcher pliers, pulling one tight that is this large is hard on the hands. Then it's stapled along the edges. and stapled, and stapled, and stapled.......
-
Primer coats
Tim applies 3 primer coats, tinted to the base color I need.
-
Stand it up and start painting
So much more detail can be achieved this way.
-
Touch up
Installation can take hours on a ceiling. Then touch ups have to be done to finish the look.

Finished!!
Ceiling in a home theater...
Seating is black leather recliners, so this kept paint out of the room as much as possible.
Actual time in the home is cut to a minimum when painted on canvas.
Oh! and the stars actually glow when the lights go down.
